Synonyms
This butterfly was formerly classified as a species in its own right, with the name Zizina labradus, but has been reclassified as a subspecies i.e. Zizina otis labradus.

Notes
This species does seem to have an obvious yet accurate common name, as it is very common and found in grassland. They can be found all year round, though they are much less numerous in the winter months.
