Synonyms

This butterfly was formerly classified as Toxidia melania; in 2022 it was moved into the genus Timoconia

Notes

I had once seen this species at the side of the road on the way up to Kuranda, but had not been able to get any photos. I finally saw another one at the side of Clohesy River Road in March 2017. It was hot, so he did not open his wings except when disturbed by the flash.
