Huatulco, Mexico in February 2019.
For my first visit to Mexico my then wife and I spent almost 3 weeks in Huatulco; naturally I took my camera along so I could spend a couple of days looking for some of the localbutterflies.
The Mexican state of Oaxaca, in which Huatulco resides, is home to something like 1000 species but unfortunately I didn’t get to photograph them all. It was getting near to the peak of the dry season, so whilst I did see quite a few butterflies on the wing there were just a tiny fraction of the numbers that might be found at other times of the year.
At some point I might write some proper blog posts about butterflying in Huatulco, but for now I’m just noting the fact that I’ve added my Mexican photos to my Photo Gallery.

As I have a lot fewer photos from overseas countries I’m displaying them a little differently to those from Australia; instead of one page per species I’m using one page for each of the butterfly Families.
