Notes
I saw plenty of orichora at Thredbo in January 2013. They were relatively high up – we went up the chairlift to an altitude of 1927 metres – and at that altitude there were a lot of these butterflies around. I found them difficult to photograph, as they didn’t settle for long and they frequently took off as I was taking a shot.
They seemed to settle down a bit as the weather brightened up and became a bit warmer, but I still didn’t get many really decent shots. For some reason they were much harder to photograph than O. kershawi at the bottom of the hill.
