Notes
This butterfly looks very similar to M. halyzia, its east coast counterpart. On my first Perth trip in 2008 I saw one male hilltopping at Lesmurdie, and then several of these butterflies at Koondoola. I was continually finding them there, I was surprised to see so many. It’s not that there were loads in a small space, but wherever I went there would be one or two. That was perhaps not typical, as on two subsequent trips to Perth I hardly saw any cyanophracta, and didn’t add to my photo tally.
