Euschemon rafflesia (Regent Skipper)

Notes

Unfortunately, I’ve only seen one adult of this spectacular species. That was at Burleigh Heads National Park at the end of December 2013. I saw it circling around an area through which the path I was on passed. I stopped and waited, and it looked increasingly like it was looking for a place to settle. Just as I thought it was going to give me a photo opportunity a couple of joggers came along the path and my Regent Skipper disappeared at a rate of knots.

As a result my only photos are of a larva found by Bob Miller near Kuranda and a pupa that was being reared by Mick Sands.
