Eurema herla (Pink Grass-yellow)
Other Common Names
Macleay’s Grass-yellow
Notes
On my 6th trip to Cairns I finally ran into this species at Atherton. It was cloudy at the time, so the butterfly settled and allowed me to get a couple of photos. I saw some more specimens later in the day at Herberton, but it was sunnier at the time, and they did not co-operate, which was a shame as some of those were better specimens and pinker in colour.
It’s only the dry season form that has the pinkish colour on the underside; I didn’t get any photos of the wet season form until 2021, when a couple of them sat nicely for my camera during a cloudy spell out near Koah.
