Synonyms
This species was previously classified as Candalides margarita.
The subspecies Eirmocides margarita gilberti was previously classified as a separate species with the name Candalides gilberti

Notes
This was one of the many butterflies that were hilltopping on Spring Mountain, QLD. I suppose I should have taken more pics, but everything was really busy up there!
I was surprised to see dozens of these butterflies at the top of Mount Sugarloaf, in November and especially December 2010. According to the books they’re not found this far south, so this seems to be an extension of their range. In 2015 and 2016 I photographed them as far south as Avalon, on Sydney’s northern beaches, though I didn’t see any of them at the same site in later years.
