Notes
On my first trip to Cairns I only photographed one specimen of this butterfly, which was on the grass verge next to a ditch, close to the Cairns Central Swamp. It spent plenty of time flying quite rapidly around, sometimes many metres from the ditch, but it only ever settled on the tall grass at the edge of the ditch.
Back in Cairns a few months later I saw quite a lot of this species. Mostly they were flying around like mad things, and generally they settled only for short periods. But occasionally one would land for longer, so I was able to get a couple of quite nice photos.
