Notes
I originally found these butterflies in a particular part of the Ingleburn Reserve, an area of open eucalypt forest. The butterflies like to patrol along the paths, and defend territories in these areas.
I’ve also found them at East Hills, in a quite different habitat; there is a heath understorey and fewer trees. The butterflies are relatively common at this location.
Glenbrook in the lower Blue Mountains is a particularly good site for this species. In September 2005 these butterflies were very common around the Oaks Fire Trail.
More recently I’ve seen them in large numbers in the Darks Common Reserve at Lapstone, where there is a large amount of their Pimelea food plant.
